What does the employer need to do?Becoming a fully qualified dental nurse by sitting for the National Diploma in Dental Nursing is a major career step for every trainee. As such, the employer has to play their part. This involves agreeing to support the trainee and provide the necessary mentoring, training and experience required to become a fully fledged dental nurse. The practice will also need to provide a witness to the trainee's work (all witnesses need to be GDC registered as a dentist, nurse, hygienist or technician).

When should I enrol my trainee onto a course?We advise enrolling onto a training course as soon as you can. You must be on a training course within 2 years of starting your trainee position. The GDC require a trainee dental nurse to be registered on an accredited course ready to begin academic training

Can I get a funding for the NEBDN dental nursing course through Infills Academy?Sadly not, There is no funding currently available for the diploma in dental nursing.

How do i pay?By credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Electron, Solo, Maestro, JCB) on the website under pricing and enrolment. Alternatively, you can pay offline by telephone. This would be the best option for enrolling multiple trainees.

How much does it cost?The course is laid out in 5 modules with between 6 and 9 lessons in each module. The full course is available for a special offer one off payment of £1004.50 (saving 30%) or the cost can be spread out over a year for 12 monthly payments of £140.

How is the ROE carried out?The NEBDN have a new online platform called Pebblepad. The learner will receive their login directly from the NEBDN 4-8 weeks after enrolment. Pebblepocket is the app you can download onto your smartphone if you wish, to make things easier for the witness to sign however this is not essential as this can be done via desktop too. What does a witness do?A Witness is an individual who holds the specific qualification, and is registered with the appropriate regulatory body, relevant to the qualification the Learner is undertaking. The role of a Witness is to provide confirmation and testimony of the Learner’s competence in the relevant clinical procedure or activity, all of which are clearly mapped to GDC Learning Outcomes set out in the qualification content. The testimony must relate directly to the Learner’s performance in the workplace and can only be signed off by the Witness who has directly observed the task. What is a ROE (Record of Experience)‘Record of Experience’ (RoE), a portfolio designed to provide a written and authenticated record of every student’s competence, so that when fully completed each student has evidence that they have nursed and assisted in the required range of dental procedures, and to a satisfactory standard, to deem them ‘safe and competent’ to work unsupervised. The purpose of the RoE is to ensure student dental nurses receive summative assessments carried out in the workplace to an approved standard.

When are the exam intakes?Written exams are held in April and November of each year OSCE exams are held in January and June of each year You must past the written exam to be entered for the OSCE exam.

Where are the exams held?Since the pandemic, all exams are now held online using a bespoke app called Maxexam app. For further information and system requirements, please check out the NEBDN resources page here.

How long will it take until i find out my exam results?The NEBDN aim to send out results in approximately 3-4 weeks after sitting your exam. We will also be in touch to let you know when we have received your result.
